Old copies of a current list cannot be relabeled as a release list.
The distinction is crucial. The PDF is evidence that a person appeared as housed when that report was made. It does not state that someone later left custody, when departure occurred, or whether the person went home. A name can drop away after bond, time served, dismissal, probation, transfer to the Utah Department of Corrections, or movement under another agency. A report refresh or omission can also change the list.

A court order for bond, dismissal, probation, or time served supports the release trail, yet it may not state the minute the jail completed processing. Record the time and office for any phone confirmation. Summit County Release List Fields

A focused GRAMA request can seek booked and released dates and times, release disposition or type, destination, and the related custody-history entries. Those are requested items, not a claim that the local database uses a fixed label for each one. Ask for segregable public portions if protected material appears in the same file.
The booking number links the sparse online report to a better request. A common name can produce the wrong match, while a booking number narrows the event. Add the approximate arrest and release interval, preferred electronic format, and contact details requested by the portal. If the County does not maintain the named record, ask it to identify the likely custodian when known. Medical, treatment, security, and active-case material may be withheld or redacted even when the basic release entry can be produced.
Bond and Summit County Release Holds
Payment does not always mean the jail door will open. The Sheriff's Posting Bail page separates a new bondable charge from “No Bail,” Adult Probation and Parole, and judge holds. Cash, card, or cashier's check may be accepted for a bondable charge, while a warrant can direct the required cash or bond form. A non-bondable hold needs a judge's order.
That local distinction changes a same-day release check. One charge may be paid while a second hold keeps the person in custody. The court docket can show an order or warrant development, but the jail remains the source for the physical custody event. Summit County Mobile Custody Check
The Summit County Sheriff's Office provides official Apple and Android apps with inmate search and services. Local reporting says the app keeps the Summit jail inmate list and links offender registries. Research found no supported recent-release tab, no rolling 24-hour feed, and no released-photo archive. The app is another way to view current information, not a separate record of who left today.
Use the app with the same caution as the PDF. If a name is missing, call the jail. If a written timestamp is needed, use the county records channel. An offender-registry link covers only people who have a duty to register under law; it is not a list of everyone released from Summit County Jail.

Summit County Release or Transfer
A local detainee who leaves Summit County Jail may enter the community after bond, time served, dismissal, probation, or another court order. Departure may instead be a transfer to UDC, another jail, federal custody, or an immigration authority. For a contracted UDC prisoner, physical departure from the county building often means movement within the state system, not freedom from custody.

VINE can add a custody-change notice where the agency feed covers the person. Read its label exactly. A transfer notice, move to a county jail, or advance parole-date notice does not mean community release occurred.
Request Summit County Release Proof
When the same-day answer must be documented, submit a narrow request to the Summit County Sheriff's records administration. Name the person, give a small booking interval, add the booking number when known, and ask for the jail custody-history or booking/release entry. Request the booked timestamp, release timestamp, disposition or type, destination, and any public transfer entry. A precise request can reduce search work and fees.
The online route is NextRequest. A downloadable GRAMA form and the Sheriff Administrative Division are alternate written channels. Utah GRAMA ordinarily calls for a response as soon as reasonably possible and no later than ten business days, subject to statutory exceptions and extraordinary circumstances. That process is useful for proof, but it is not a real-time same-day alert.
A phone call and a formal request serve different needs. Call first when a ride, court appearance, or immediate family contact depends on current status. Use the written route when the exact timestamp, mechanism, or destination must be documented. If the person was placed with UDC, search the state record and latest Board action before describing the county departure as a community release.
